If Odysseus risked everything to listen to the sirens right here on this coast, there must be a reason! Get ready to find out on a 3. 5-hourboat trip along the stunning Costa degli Dei.
You’ll explore the ancient Roman fishing village of Sant’Irene and the legendary Panta Rei Bay, whilst snorkelling away from the crowds on the beaches. To round off the day, a delicious Calabrian aperitif awaits you on board!
What we will do
We’ll meet 15 minutes before the scheduled time at the meeting point in Vibo Marina (VV). The skipper who will be taking us on our trip will be waiting for us there.
Our first stop will be the Ancient Roman Fishpond (or Murenario) of Sant’Irene, a structure carved out of tuff rock between Tropea and Briatico. We’ll stop here for an hour: we’ll put on our masks and snorkels and dive in with the skipper, who’ll guide us in the water whilst explaining the history and how this ancient tuna farm worked.
We’ll then head to Paradiso del Sub (Marinella di Zambrone or Testa del Leone) , a bay surrounded by granite headlands, where we’ll spend 30 minutes snorkelling freely amongst the rocks.
We’ll continue sailing along the long white beach at Zambrone before stopping for an hour in Baia del Panta Rei, famous for the legend of Ulysses and the siren Ligea. We’ll round off the experience with a final stop of around 40 minutes off the coast of Tropea, where we’ll enjoy a Calabrian aperitif featuring crostini, cheeses, taralli, local delicacies, fresh fruit, prosecco, white wine, juices and tea.
We’ll return to the harbour after three and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is open to children aged 3 and over. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
This experience is not recommended for women in the late stages of pregnancy.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible. Passengers with reduced mobility (not using a wheelchair) may be assisted whilst boarding, provided they give advance notice.

The activity takes place from June to September and is confirmed provided there is a minimum of 5 participants.
The itinerary and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
The vessel used is a luxury, sporty motorboat, 7. 5 metres long and equipped with a sun awning, non-slip teak decking, a sun deck at the bow, a refrigerated cockpit, tables, a fresh-water shower, a stern platform, a boarding ladder and music. Shoes must be removed whilst on board.

Dogs are not permitted on board.
Free and paid parking is available on site. The meeting point is accessible by public transport. On request, it is possible to board in Tropea 30 minutes after the scheduled departure time from Vibo Marina: please contact the organisers using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to arrange this.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
