Full description
Set sail from Torre Faro and cross the Strait of Messina to reach charming Scilla and the picturesque fishing district of Chianalea on a 4-hour boat tour.
After sailing past the colourful houses of Chianalea, you will head towards the caves of Bagnara Calabra. You will discover the Grotto of San Sebastiano, the Grotto of the Sirens and the Grotto of the Swallows, and stop at the beautiful bay surrounded by cliffs of Cala Janculla for a swim.
With any luck you may even spot dolphins!
What we will do
We will meet at Torre Faro, from where our navigation will begin.
The boat will cross the Strait of Messina and head straight for Scilla and the picturesque fishing district of Chianalea, with its colourful houses, restaurants built on stilts and narrow streets leading to the sea.
Once past Chianalea, we will head towards the Bagnara Calabra coastline. On board we will also have the opportunity to listen to the skipper who will tell us many interesting facts about the places we will visit. Once in Bagnara, we will focus on its marvellous caves, starting with the Grotta di San Sebastiano, then theArco di Aiace, the Grotta delle Sirene and the Grotta delle Rondini.
We then arrive at Cala Janculla, a cove surrounded by high cliffs overlooking the sea and shaded behind by Monte Elia. The cove has a sandy shoreline mixed with pebbles and is washed by pristine waters, populated by flora and fauna protected by the Aspromonte National Park.
A swimming stop is planned precisely at Cala Janculla. We will be able to dive in and wear a mask to admire the exceptional seabed. If we are particularly lucky, we will even have the chance to spot dolphins jumping in the waves.
At the end of the swim, our boat will resume navigation along the Strait of Messina to take us back to our starting point. The tour will last a total of four hours.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is suitable for everyone and recommended from 8 months of age. Children aged 0 to 5 years participate free of charge: notify the skipper of their presence after booking confirmation.
The boat is not accessible to wheelchairs and persons with reduced mobility.
Other information
The excursion takes place from May to October and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 persons.
The itinerary may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
You set sail aboard a 7-metre-long motor gozzo equipped with an awning, ladder and cushions to ensure comfortable seating during navigation.
Upon request, it is possible to take a small dog on board. Contact the skipper at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to check availability.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund!
