Full description
Set sail from the port of Scilla on a motor launch to admire the fishing district of Chianalea and the coast of Bagnara Calabra on a 3-hour tour.
You will enjoy the view of Scilla's most characteristic district with its colourful houses and restaurants built on stilts. In Bagnara, on the other hand, you will discover a wonderful coastline, where inlets alternate with caves. You will sail by spotting the Grotta di San Sebastiano, the Grotta delle Sirene and the Grotta delle Rondini.
You will then stop in the bay of Cala Janculla and here you will take a dip in the crystal-clear water, with the seabed in view, rich in flora and fauna protected by the Aspromonte Regional Park.
What we will do
Our boat is waiting for us at the port of Scilla with the skipper on board who will take us on our tour.
After settling in, we will set off immediately for the fishing district of Chianalea. From the boat we will be able to admire the colourful houses, the narrow streets leading down to the sea, and the premises built on stilts, and enjoy the view of this characteristic neighbourhood, nicknamed 'little Venice'.
We will then continue sailing towards Bagnara Calabra, while the skipper will entertain us with a series of information and stories about our itinerary. We will sail along the magnificent Bagnara coastline, characterised by a continuous succession of inlets and caves.
Sailing along, we will discover the Grotto of San Sebastiano, the Ajax Arch, the Grotto of the Sirens and the Grotto of the Swallows. Having passed the latter, we will arrive at the bay called Cala Janculla. Here we will stop to enjoy the beautiful inlet framed by high cliffs overlooking a crystal-clear sea, considered a snorkelling paradise.
It is precisely at Cala Janculla that we will have the opportunity to stop for an unforgettable swim . Once back on board, we will begin the return to the starting point.
The tour will last a total of 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is suitable for everyone and recommended from 8 months of age. Children aged 0 to 5 years participate free of charge: notify the skipper of their presence after booking confirmation.
The boat is not accessible to wheelchairs and persons with reduced mobility.
Other information
The excursion is held from June to October and is confirmed once a minimum of 2 participants are reached.
The itinerary may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
The boat used is a 10-metre-long motor launch with a shade awning, a small beach at the stern and a shower.
On request, it is possible to take a small dog on board. Contact the skipper at the contact details given in the booking confirmation email to check availability.
