Have you ever crossed the Strait of Messina?
U Strittu, as the locals lovingly call it, is the stretch of sea separating Sicily and Calabria. And if it was once home to the legendary monsters Scylla and Charybdis, it is now part of our itinerary to discover the wonders of the Costa Viola: Scilla, Cala Janculla and other hidden gems that the skipper will not fail to present.
A4-hour boat trip, waiting for you to set sail!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before 09:30 at the meeting point in Torre Faro (ME). We will be welcomed by thecrew who will accompany us on this excursion to discover the natural wonders of the Costa Viola!
Once on board we will sail the Strait of Messina, the thin strip of sea that divides Sicily and Calabria. We will pass through Ganzirri to reach Scilla, the most renowned location in Calabria's Tyrrhenian region.
Our skipper will then take us to admire the village of Oliveto from the sea. We will continue our route skirting Favazzina and Bagnara Calabra until we reach Cala Janculla: right here, in one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, we will have a 1-hour bathing stop . We will also be able to take advantage of thesnorkelling equipment on board, to venture out and discover the seabed of the Tyrrhenian Sea! We will then approach some spectacular natural attractions such as the Grotta San Sebastiano, the Grotta del Monaco and the Grotta delle Rondini.
We will finally return to the meeting point by crossing the Strait of Messina again. The experience will last a total of four hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone without age limits; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult on board. Children aged 0 to 4 participate free of charge: contact the skipper at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to indicate their presence on board.
The boat is not wheelchair-accessible but people with reduced mobility are welcome on board: contact the skipper at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to request boarding support.

The experience takes place from May to September and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.
There is a car park in the vicinity. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
Theboat is the motor boat Scilla, which is 10 metres long and equipped with an awning and outdoor shower. Shoes are not allowed on board, you remain barefoot. Dogs are allowed: contact the skipper at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to assess the possibility of taking your four-legged friend on board.
