Boat tour of Scilla and Torre Faro departing from Scilla

Set sail from Scilla to cross the Strait of Messina and reach Sicily on a 2½-hour boat tour.

In the first part of the excursion you'll skirt the most beautiful corners of Scilla, from the fishing district of Chianalea to the Ulysses Rock, from the beach of Marina Grande to the Ruffo Castle.

Then you will plunge into the atmosphere of Torre Faro, an ancient fishing village near Messina, with a wonderful beach washed by an uncontaminated sea. A dive will be a must!

What we will do

We will meet at the port of Scilla, where our boat is waiting for us.

First, we will head for the fishermen's district of Chianalea, which is considered a sort of Venice thanks to its narrow alleyways heading towards the sea that are very reminiscent of the canals in the lagoon city. Immediately afterwards, we will skirt the Ulysses rock and the promontory overlooking the sea on which stands the majestic Ruffo Castle.

We will then continue sailing towards the beautiful beach of Marina Grande, the Costone Tre Croci and the suggestive Punta Pacì, also known as the Sirens' Beach, with its cliffs covered in thick vegetation.

After leaving Punta Pacì, we will move on to the Sicilian side of our excursion. We will head, in fact, to Torre Faro, on the north-eastern tip of Sicily. This is a very old seaside village, whose origins date back to the 1700s.

The town's beach is considered one of the most beautiful in the region, with the Capo Peloro sandy shore alternating between sand and pebbles and a sea so pristine that it is the habitat of several protected species. It is here that we will make our bathing stop for a dip in the stretch of water that separates Calabria from Sicily.

Once the swim is over, we will turn back to Scilla. The excursion will last a total of 2½ hours.

Who it is aimed at

The tour is suitable for everyone and recommended from 8 months of age. Children aged 0 to 5 years participate free of charge: notify the skipper of their presence after booking confirmation.

The boat is not accessible to wheelchairs and persons with reduced mobility.

Other information

The tour runs from June to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 5 people.

The itinerary may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.

Depending on the number of participants and availability, one of the following boats may be used for the excursion

• 7-metre motor gozzo with awning, cushions and ladder;
• 10-metre motor launch with awning, shower and stern platform.
