It is spelled 'Coast of the Gods' but it is read 'Murenario'!
If you want to visit this magnificent stretch of coastline, you can't miss the Murenario: an ancient Roman fishpond in Sant'Irene, where you can snorkel! This excursion will let you discover this and many other unmissable destinations, such as Isola Bella and the Grotta degli Innamorati.
And to finish, you can enjoy a delicious typical aperitif!
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Tropea (VV). Awaiting us will be the skipper who will accompany us on this adventure. After an initial welcome, we will board the boat to begin our journey towards the wonders of the Costa degli Dei.
We will admire the ancient dwellings of Tropea built on the cliff and the iconic wild lagoon of Capo Cozzo, characterised by its emerald waters and golden sand. Then we will reach the Baia dei 3 Galli and Michelino beach with the small Pizzuta stacks, where we will stop to admire the view. During the tour we will make a total of 5-6 stops lasting about 15-30 minutes each: we can use these to relax on board the boat or snorkel in the wonderful waters of the area!
The highlight will be the stop at St Irene's Murenarium. Here we will have about 30 minutes to dive into the natural pools of the ancient Roman fishpond. We will swim through semi-submerged channels populated by starfish, octopuses and anemones, exploring the seabed full of life thanks to the snorkelling equipment included on board.
During the navigation, our guide will tell us stories and legends related to this coastline, making the experience even more engaging and authentic.
Towards the end of the tour, usually near Tropea's Isola Bella, we will enjoy an aperitif with sweet and savoury local products (included) , accompanied by Calabrian white wine, water and soft drinks. Finally, after admiring the famous Grotta degli Innamorati, we will return to the port of departure.
The activity will last a total of 3. 5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 5 years of age; children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The boat is not accessible to people in wheelchairs or with reduced mobility.
Other information
The activity takes place from May until September and is confirmed with a minimum number of 6 participants. The itinerary and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions at the skipper's discretion.
The boat used is a boat equipped with a large sunshade, a sun sofa, a stereo system, a refrigerator, a freshwater shower, a stern platform and a climbing ladder. On board you can stay without shoes. The type of boat may change depending on availability and the number of participants (it could also be a dinghy) .

Dogs are not allowed on board.
On-site parking spaces are available for a fee. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
