Tibetan bridge 'Bridge in the Sun' and excursion to the Dossena Speleological Park

For Indiana Joneses who are not satisfied with just one challenge, we have two to propose!

In Val Brembana, in Dossena, you can cross a 505-metre Tibetan bridge and then go 100 metres deep into the village's Speleological Park.

Among magnificent landscapes and fascinating mines, you will feel the thrill of discovery at every step!

What we will do

We’ll meet at the meeting point in Dossena (BG), where we can park the car and follow the signposts showing us the way along the path. After a walk of about 1 km (25 minutes) , we’ll reach the starting point of the Ponte nel Sole, the longest Tibetan bridge in the world.

There , the guides will be waiting for us to hand over the necessary equipment (harness and carabiners) . Once kitted out, we’ll be ready to begin crossing the bridge, which is 505 m long and 120 m high. The structure, of which only the start and finish points are anchored, is spanned by 3. 5 km of steel cables, along which we will make our way.

It will take us about 45 minutes to reach the other side of the bridge, and we’ll return directly to the village, completing a circular route. We’ll walk suspended in mid-air amongst the magnificent mountains of the Brembana Valley and catch sight of the Orobic Alps, the peaks of Mount Grigna, Mount Gioco and Mount Alben, and the San Pellegrino valley floor.

Once the first part of the activity is over, we’ll wait until the afternoon for a visit to the Speleological Park (available at 2. 00 pm or 5. 00 pm) . After putting on our equipment ( harness, carabiners, helmet) , a caving guide will lead us along a secured route, featuring zip lines, bridges, suspended walkways and artificial chimneys. It will be a proper via ferrata, passing through natural caves and man-made tunnels, following the old rails along which the trolleys used by miners to transport materials once ran. And whilst we put ourselves to the test on the 1 km-long equipped route, we’ll hear the history of the site and descend to a depth of 100 metres!

It will be a unique experience, taking us back in time! Each activity will last one and a half hours .

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from the age of 12. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied.

To participate, you must be at least 1. 40 m tall and have a waist width of between 60 cm and 120 cm.

The activity is not recommended for those suffering from vertigo.

Other information

The activity is available all year round, on Mondays, Fridays and at weekends.

Please note! The booking time corresponds to the start of the first activity (Tibetan bridge) . Once this is complete, the on-site staff will provide you with directions to the caving park and the time at which you will take part in the second activity. The caving park is situated 2 km from the bridge and can be reached via a 1-hour hike or a 10-minute drive. Visits are generally available at 2. 00 pm or 5. 00 pm, though additional time slots may be added depending on the season.The total duration of the two activities is therefore a minimum of 4 hours and varies depending on the start time of the experiences.

There is a charge to use the road leading to the Speleological Park (€3 per car, payable in cash or by card) ; the payment terminal is located in Acquadura.

Access to the bridge is not permitted in open-toed footwear such as: beach sandals, flip-flops, clogs, espadrilles and/or any shoes with leather soles, heels or wedges.

For the via ferrata, it is compulsory to wear work or gardening gloves – these can also be purchased on site.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, but free parking is available on site.

Recommended clothing

• Sporty and warm clothing suitable for the season
• Trainers/trekking shoes (with laces/ buckle and with non-slip rubber sole)
• Work gloves/garden gloves

Work/garden gloves required for climbing
