Embark on a 2-hour canoe tour and discover the beauty of Lake Varese from a unique perspective.
From Biandronno, you will paddle in the company of an expert instructor until you reach theIsolino Virginia, a UNESCO site among the most important in European prehistory. You will enter the forest of lotus flowers along a fascinating route among willows, marsh lilies and reeds.
What we will do
The meeting point is Biandronno (VA). On our arrival we will be welcomed by theinstructor and given our Canadian canoe, together with paddles, life jacket and waterproof shoe covers (full equipment included in the fee).
We will have a briefing on the use of the canoe and safety regulations and, after a few trials in the water, we will be ready to go. In the company of theinstructor, who may be with us on board the canoe, we will paddle on the western side of the lake, the one most protected from the wind.
If we are lucky, we will meet a local fisherman on the way. We will then pass by the hunter's hut, until we circumnavigateIsolino Virginia: this triangular-shaped islet is a small oasis of tranquillity and a UNESCO site among the most important in European prehistory. Here we will be able to land for a walk at the discretion of the organiser and the other participants; alternatively, we will take advantage of this for a break on board our canoe.
Afterwards, we will continue our tour through the forest of lotus flowers, which bloom here in the summer months only, in a truly evocative and exciting journey through willows, marsh lilies and reeds.
We will spend about 1.5 hours on board the canoe; the activity will last about 2 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from 7 years of age. Participants up to 17 years of age receive a reduced rate: 1 participant €40.00 per person, 2 participants or more €35.00 per person (in August, 1 participant €50.00 per person, 2 participants or more €45.00 per person); please contact us to submit your booking request with underage participants.
No previous experience is necessary to participate in the tour.
Other information
The activity takes place from May to August and is dependent on the blooming of the lotus flowers, which is visible in the summer months with possible variations from year to year.
The duration of the experience may vary depending on the preparation time, number and experience level of the participants at the organiser's discretion (approx. 1 ½ to 2 hours in a canoe / approx. 2 ½ to 2 hours total).
The excursion may take place in a 2 to 4-seater canoe, depending on the number of participants. The boat is a Canadian canoe: the activity takes place comfortably seated on board without the risk of getting wet. Dogs can participate in the experience.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
