Try canoeing for the first time with a unique guided tour .
From Arolo, you'll paddle in the company of an experienced instructor until you reach theHermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, a splendid monastery overlooking the lake, and the exclusive Pirate's Lair, a secret place that can only be reached from the lake.
Join us for this adventurous canoe tour, available all year round as in a Canadian canoe you are comfortably seated and do not get wet!
What we will do
The meeting point is at the selected time at the meeting point in Arolo (VA). On our arrival we will be met by theinstructor and assigned our Canadian canoe, together with paddles, life jacket and waterproof shoe covers (full equipment included in the fee).
We will have a briefing on the use of the canoe and safety rules and, after a few trials in the water, we will be ready to set off. We will paddle on Lake Maggiore following the course of the cliff in the direction of theHermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso, a picturesque monastery overlooking the water. It will even be possible to touch the wall in which the religious complex is embedded!
On the way, we will also encounter Banksy-style street-art works and a wreck embedded in the rocks. The guide will then take us to the Pirates' Lair, a hidden place unreachable by land. We will land here for a short stop, sitting on this 'terrace' overlooking the lake.
We will then board the canoes to calmly return to Arolo. The activity lasts a total of about two and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 7 and up. Participants up to 17 years of age receive a reduced rate: 1 participant €45.00 per person, 2 participants €40.00 per person, 3 participants or more €35.00 per person (with an additional charge of €10.00 in August); please contact us to submit your booking request with underage participants.
No previous experience is necessary to participate in the tour.
Other information
The activity takes place from January to December subject to weather conditions at the organiser's discretion. Please note that this experience is available all year round as you are comfortably seated on board a Canadian canoe with no risk of getting wet.
The excursion may take place in a 2 or 3-seater Canadian canoe, depending on the number of participants. Dogs can participate in the experience.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
