Have you ever paddled to a waterfall?
Prepare your arms and your desire to have fun: a half-day canoeing adventure on Lake Orta awaits you! Departing from Omegna, you will paddle between wild shores and sheer mountains, in the company of an instructor.
The clear water and the roar of the Qualba waterfall will be your arrival point: the perfect destination for some relaxation and a refreshing dip!
What we will do
The appointment is 30 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Omegna (VB). Awaiting us will be the guide who will accompany us on our Canadian canoe trip on Lake Orta.
We will start with a briefing of about 20 minutes to learn how to paddle in a coordinated manner. We will then board the 4-seater canoes and set off to explore the gulf of Omegna, among the locks and glimpses of the town overlooking the lake.
After crossing the gulf, we will head along the opposite shore, the wildest and quietest, with the mountains dropping sheer into the water. Here we will alternate 20 minutes of paddling with breaks to rest and listen to stories about the area and the formation of the lake.
After about an hour and a half, we arrive at the highlight of the hike: the Qualba waterfall, which plunges about 30 metres down the mountain. We disembark and walk for a few minutes to the viewpoint. Here we can relax, bathe on hot days and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature.
On the return journey, we will sail to the middle of the lake to admire the villages overlooking the water and enjoy a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape. Between outward and return journeys, the route will be approximately 8 km long.
The activity will last a total of 4½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
It is possible to paddle independently from the age of 13. Younger children can share the canoe with adults.
It is not required to know how to swim, it is sufficient not to be afraid of water.
The weight per participant must not exceed 120 kg.

The activity takes place from May to September and is confirmed with a minimum of 4 participants.
The group will consist of a maximum of 12 people in three 4-seater Canadian canoes.
Changing rooms, toilets and an enclosed area where personal belongings can be left are available at the meeting point. There are no showers.
It is not possible to participate with your own dog.
The meeting point is easily accessible by public transport; free and paid parking spaces are available nearby.
