Are you never satisfied with the more touristy routes? Then we’ve got an adventure in store for you!
With this experience, you can choose between two caving routes that will take you deep into the magnificent Frasassi Caves, well beyond the areas open to the general public. Accompanied by caving guides, you’ll enjoy a unique adventure through tunnels, slides and climbs.

What we will do
We’ll meet 60 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Genga (AN). Waiting for us there will be two caving guides who will accompany us on this adventure in the Frasassi Caves!
After putting on the equipment provided (overalls, helmet and boots) , we’ll have an introductory briefing to learn about safety rules and caving techniques. We’ll then follow the classic tourist route to the ‘Hall of Infinity’, where we’ll leave the artificial lighting behind to venture into the true underground world.
Depending on the option chosen at the time of booking, we’ll tackle one of the two caving routes.
On the blue route – the easiest one – we’ll explore the ‘Cannella Pass’ and the ‘Four Sisters Gallery ’ to reach the ‘Finlandia Chamber’. Then it’ll be a mix of muddy tunnels (because getting dirty is fun, after all! ), chambers where we’ll stop for a souvenir photo, and slides where any technique for getting forward is allowed!
On the red route, designed for the more daring, we’ll descend into the “Pozzo Falconara” chasm secured by a safety rope, climb up the “Salita della Spaccata” and crawl, amongst other things, through the “Catacombs Tunnel”.
Along the way, we’ll admire the hidden beauty of the caves and feel just like real cavers, ready to discover new passages!
The activity, which will end with a return to the starting point, will last a total of 2 or 3 hours, depending on the route chosen.
Who it is aimed at
This experience is suitable for those aged 12 and over. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
This experience is not suitable for people with mobility impairments, pregnant women, or those with heart conditions or claustrophobia. Furthermore, participants must weigh no more than 100 kg,be aged 65 or under, and be in good health. The guide reserves the right to refuse participants entry to the route if these requirements are not met.
The routes are of a medium-easy (blue route) or intermediate (red route) difficulty and are suitable for a first caving experience.

The experience takes place from February to December, on the dates shown in the calendar.
Please note! When booking, you can choose between the ‘Blue Route’ and the ‘Red Route’, depending on your preference.
If you let the guide know in advance, you may bring a compact camera with you.
The experience goes ahead even in bad weather.
Dogs are not permitted on the caving routes, but dedicated kennels are available on site for those wishing to leave their dogs whilst taking part in the activity.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is strict. You get a full refund if you cancel within 15 days from the activity start date. Within 14 and 8 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
