From Chianti Classico to the Maremma countryside.
It was here, in the 1990s, that the Mazzei family chose to transfer its centuries-old savoir-faire , transforming Tenuta Belguardo into one of the most important wine estates in the area.
A 94-hectare property, some of which you will visit in the company of a sommelier during this wine tasting with cellar tour.
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the time selected during the booking process at the Belguardo Estate in Poggio La Mozza (GR).
Once all participants have gathered, the tour will begin with a short walk through the vineyards. The estate has 48 hectares of vineyards where Cabernet, Sangiovese, Alicante, Syrah, Ciliegiolo and Vermentino grapes grow, in a microclimate influenced by the proximity of the sea.
We will then head inside the winery. We will visit the vat cellar, where the grapes ferment in steel and cement tanks. We will then proceed to the barrique cellar, where the wines age in wooden barrels or in special terracotta amphorae, as is the case for the prized Belguardo V cru.
At the end of the visit, which will last about 20 minutes, we will be seated in the tasting room, characterised by large windows overlooking the vineyards and the vat cellar. We will taste four Tenuta Belguardo - Mazzei wines, accompanied by almonds and taralli:
- Belguardo Vermentino (Maremma Toscana DOC)
- Belguardo Rosè (Toscana IGT)
- Belguardo Tirrenico (Tuscan Maremma DOC)
- Belguardo Estate (Maremma Toscana Rosso Riserva DOC)
The experience will last approximately 1 hour in total.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended for 18 years and over.
The wine tasting is reserved for adults only. Any accompanying under-age and astemious persons can participate in the experience free of charge by selecting 'accompanying persons' in the booking box.
The wine cellar and wine shop are accessible by wheelchair or pushchair, the vineyard is not.
Other information
Activities take place all year round.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Dogs are allowed in the common areas of the winery and in the vineyard, but are not allowed in the cellar.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
