Get ready for an immersive experience in contact with the underwater world!
This freediving spearfishing course in Maratea will enable you to learn how to move underwater while holding your breath, improving your physical resistance and your technique for catching fish.
The course is structured in 5 lessons of 3 hours, with theoretical and practical parts, and will enable you to obtain an internationally recognised spearfishing licence.
What we will do
The appointment is at our diving centre in Maratea. Here you will meet theinstructor who will accompany you during the theoretical and practical part of the lessons required to obtain the free-diving fishing licence.
The course consists of 5 lessons of 3 hours each that will enable you to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become an expert spearfisherman.
In 15 hours of training you will learn how to dive in water without scuba tanks and rebreather. But it doesn't end there! Through the course you will improve your diving techniques, correct your movements and learn how to better coordinate them. You will be able to hold your breath longer and, of course, you will focus on theapproach to catching fish by moving discreetly and silently underwater.
Each lesson will be divided into a first theoretical part and a second practical part, in which you will put into practice what you have learnt. After the theoretical lesson on land, you will go down to the beach at the Maratea Dock with the instructor and carry out adiving exercise that will last about an hour.
You will have atyour disposal all the necessaryequipment to practice this activity, i.e. mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, ballast, gloves, socks, buoy marker and speargun. At the end of the training course, you will receive your international spearfishing licence.
The course lasts a total of 15 hours, divided into 5 lessons of 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to everyone aged 10 and over, provided they are in good health. A certificate of good health is required for enrolment in the freediving course.
Minors must be accompanied.
Other information
The activity is available all year round.
A total of 15 hours of training, i.e. 5 lessons of 3 hours each, is required to obtain the international licence. Arrangements can be made directly with the instructor and you can choose whether to take lessons on consecutive days or to combine several lessons on one day.
Included in the cost of the course is the rental of complete free-diving equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, ballast, gloves, socks, buoy marker and speargun) and the issue of the internationally recognised certification.
