Full description
Our basic sailing course in Capoliveri on the Island of Elba is perfect for all newcomers to the sport.
In 5 lessons of 90 minutes, you will learn the basic concepts of how to manage a boat and you will practice a lot at sea, first together with other participants, then in pairs with the instructor and, depending on your progress, also on your own.
It will be an experience full of excitement and adrenaline, at the end of which you will know all the nomenclature and be able to perform the main manoeuvres feeling like a real sailor. What are you waiting for to book?
What we will do
The appointment is in Capoliveri, in the province of Livorno. We will be welcomed by a qualified instructor who, after the ritual introductions, will start the course.
The lessons will be structured in a theoretical part and a practical part at sea. We will learn the nomenclature related to the boat and the sail, the first rudiments of the main manoeuvres, e.g. how to rig and unrig a boat, how to set sail, how to tack, and we will be taught the names of the winds and their direction.
At sea, we will first go out in a group boat of up to 5 people together with the instructor and then, depending on progress, we can go out in pairs with him or alone.
The course consists of 5 lessons of 3 hours each.
At the end of the course, you will be issued with a sailor's booklet with all the skills you have acquired.
Who it is aimed at
The course is aimed at all newcomers to the sport and does not present any particular challenges. The minimum age for participation is 6 years.
Other information
The course is available from June to September, depending on weather conditions, and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 3 participants.
Lessons can be held on consecutive or non-consecutive days. After the first lesson, you will agree with the instructor when to take the next lesson.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
