Day trip by motorboat to Filicudi and Alicudi

This motorboat excursion from Lipari will take you to Alicudi and Filicudi, passing through the Bocche di Vulcano and skirting some of the archipelago’s most characteristic landscapes.

Amidst small landing places, sea stacks, ancient volcanic landscapes and a pace of life that seems to slow down, you’ll enjoy a relaxing day full of beauty!

What we will do

We’ll meet 15 minutes before the departure time in Lipari (ME).The crew who will be accompanying us on the motorboat excursion will be waiting for us there.

We’ll set sail for Alicudi, passing through the Bocche di Vulcano. During the crossing, we’ll see the Gran Cratere della Fossa, the Faraglioni of Lipari and , a little further on, the verdant Salina with its twin peaks.

We will then reach Alicudi, the most remote island in the archipelago. Here we will have about an hour and a half of free time to stroll along the mule tracks, watch the donkeys used as a means of transport and soak up the atmosphere of a place where life still follows ancient rhythms.

We’ll then set off again towards Filicudi, sailing past some of its most distinctive landmarks: La Canna, an imposing volcanic neck rising from the sea; the Grotta del Bue Marino; and the Giafante rock. Once we arrive in Filicudi, we’ll have around two and a half hours to explore the small village at our leisure, visit the island’s coves or walk along the paths leading to the ancient millstones or to Capo Graziano, where the remains of a prehistoric village can be seen.

In the afternoon, we’ll set sail again, sailing along the promontory of Capo Graziano before making our way back to Lipari at a leisurely pace. The excursion will last a total of 8. 5 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This experience is suitable for everyone, with no age restrictions. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The boat is not accessible to wheelchair users.

Other information

The tour runs from mid-April to mid-October, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and is confirmed once a minimum of 20 participants has been reached.

The itinerary and stops may be subject to change depending on weather and sea conditions.

Depending on the number of participants, a motor vessel between 16 and 20 metres in length may be used, with a capacity of up to 130 people. All motor vessels are equipped with comfortable seating, shaded areas, a bar and toilets.

Small dogs are allowed on board.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
