4-hour morning dinghy tour to Molara and Tavolara

Treat yourself to 4 hours of fun, relaxation and s on a maxi-zodiac tour of the Tavolara Marine Protected Area!

You’ll set off from San Teodoro, heading straight for Cala Brandinchi, whose Caribbean-like colours have earned it the nickname ‘the Sardinian Tahiti’. You’ll then reach Proratora Island, the Grotta del Forno and the natural pools of Molara, for a unique snorkelling experience.

It’ll be like diving into a marvellous natural aquarium!

What we will do

We’ll meet 30 minutes before the scheduled time at the meeting point in San Teodoro, where the large inflatable boat will be waiting for us to set off on our excursion.

As we sail along La Cinta beach, we’ll pass the Marina di Puntaldia and the waters off Lu Impostu beach. After a few minutes, we’ll disembark at the famous Cala Brandicchi beach, also known as ‘Sardinia’s little Tahiti’, where we’ll make our first stop for a swim.

Once back on board, we’ll sail alongside Ruia Island until we reach Proratora Island, where we’ll visit the ‘Grotta del Forno’ (Oven Cave) , so named because it’s connected to the island’s summit by a natural chimney. We’ll then head towards the southern coast of Molara, skirting a stunning stretch of coastline that’s absolutely worth capturing with some lovely souvenir photos.

We’ll then arrive at the Molara Pools, where we can put on our masks to go snorkelling. Here, we’ll enjoy the unique experience of swimming in a sort of natural aquarium amongst fish and marine life in crystal-clear waters.

Back on board, we’ll continue our excursion towards the rocky cliff face of Tavolara Island, where we’ll catch sight of the Grotta della Cattedrale. Here, the skipper will tell us the story of the world’s smallest kingdom.

We’ll then head towards Cala Girgolu, where we’ll be able to admire the Caletta della Tartaruga – which takes its name from a rock shaped like a turtle – as well as Spiaggia delle Vacche and Spiaggia dei Sassi Piatti. Here, too, we’ll stop for an unforgettable swim.

We’ll then round off the tour by reaching the large bay of Capo Coda Cavallo, where we’ll have the chance to enjoy an aperitif together on board (not included) . We’ll then set sail again to return to the starting point after a tour lasting around 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is open to everyone aged 2 and over.

The dinghy is not wheelchair accessible.

Pregnant women cannot be accommodated on board.

Other information

The excursion takes place from June to September and is confirmed once a minimum of 6 participants has been reached.

The itinerary may vary depending on weather and sea conditions. The staff check the forecast in advance and may make changes to the itinerary to ensure a smooth trip.

The boat is an 8-metre-long maxi inflatable, equipped with all the amenities for an enjoyable experience, including a sun awning, a stereo system, cushions and a mini-bar. The organiser has two inflatables, each capable of accommodating up to 12 passengers.

Small dogs are also allowed on board, provided they are used to being on a boat and going out to sea. Please contact the skipper in advance using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know your dog will be joining you.

For those wishing to enjoy an aperitif, there is an additional charge of €10 per person, payable on board. The aperitif includes snacks, crisps and prosecco.

The meeting point is easily accessible by public transport (a minibus will be available from the meeting point to the jetty) . You can request a transfer service from your hotel/accommodation for an additional charge (please request this directly from the guide after your booking has been confirmed) .
