Full description
The Baunei coastline is a paradisiacal stretch of central-eastern Sardinia that you can visit with a maxi dinghy tour departing from Santa Maria Navarrese.
In the company of an experienced captain you will set off to discover incredible beaches such as Cala Mariolu, Cala Gabbiani and Cala Luna.
Treat yourself to a day of sea and relaxation in a true paradise on earth and take lots of souvenir photos of the landscapes that will accompany you during the excursion. We look forward to seeing you on board!
What we will do
Departure is scheduled at 9:00 am in Santa Maria Navarrese. We will arrive at 8.45am so that we can get embarked and leave on time for our tour along the Baunei Coast.
Our first stop will be Cala Mariolu, whose name has a curious history: mariolu means 'thief' and it was given this name because this beach was once populated by monk seals who used to steal the fish just caught by the fishermen. Today the monk seals are gone, but there are still plenty of small fish swimming in the crystal-clear waters that we can observe with our snorkelling mask.
Afterwards, we climb back on board to reach Cala Biriala: small white pebbles, crystal-clear waters and breathtaking landscapes will inspire our photos before taking a refreshing dip and a swim in the clear waters.
As an alternative to one of these two stops, we can opt for the Grotta del Fico (the entrance ticket for which is not included in the participation fee and will eventually be purchased on site) inside which we will find stalactites, stalagmites, water features with small lakes and waterfalls.
Finally, we will reach the enchanting beach of Cala Luna, which has small natural caves as well as a restaurant where we can sit down for lunch. Or we can spread our towels on the fine, golden sand and enjoy our picnic lunch while admiring the horizon.
In the afternoon, we can relax on the beach, sunbathe and swim in the crystal-clear waters overlooked by the lido.
The tour lasts 8 hours and ends with the return to Santa Maria Navarrese at around 17:00.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is open to everyone, with no age limit. Children up to 2 years of age participate free of charge.
Other information
The excursion takes place from May to October and is confirmed when there are at least 4 participants.
It is necessary to arrive at least 15 minutes before the time agreed upon at the time of booking.
Each stop will last approximately one to one and a half hours. If the beaches are not too crowded, there will also be time to reach the Piscine di Venere and Cala Golortizè.
A fee of 1€ per person to be paid in cash on site is required to access Cala Mariolu.
The boat available for the tour is a 7.5-metre maxi dinghy without a canopy that can accommodate up to 12 people in addition to the captain. You may bring your own sunshade on board. Dogs are not allowed on the tour.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund!
