Have you ever wondered what it feels like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren't yet sure if you want to take the course to get certified, the Discover Scuba Diving programme is for you.
It is a quick and easy introduction to learn how to explore the underwater world. No fear: the class is suitable for beginners and no previous diving experience is necessary.
Experience the thrill of diving with us in the beautiful sea between Polignano a Mare and Monopoli, about 30 km south of Bari. An incredible area of the Apulian Riviera, characterised by rocky coastlines, crystal-clear waters and beautiful sea caves.
What we will do
The appointment is at the time selected when booking at the diving centre in Monopoli. On arrival, we will meet theinstructor and be given all thenecessary equipment (included in the fee).
The first part of the lesson will be devoted to theoretical fundamentals. We will learn how to use the equipment, what the basic safety rules are and the skills needed for diving.
We will be able to immediately put into practice the notions learned in the first test dive (to a depth of 12 metres). Afterwards, we will be driven to the beautiful Cala Incina, a real open-air 'natural pool' about 10 minutes away.
We will appreciate the variety of the rocky seabed, full of ravines, caves and different marine species, including corals, sponges and starfish. On the seabed, we will be able to admire various relics and the famous Grotta della Madonnina.
Thedive will last approximately 45 minutes and will take place under the supervision of the instructor to ensure maximum safety. At the end of the dive, we will be driven back to our starting point.
The activity has a total duration of approximately 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone over the age of 10. No patent is required, just being in good health and knowing how to swim.
Other information
Attention. You must arrive 30 minutes before the start time of the activity.
Each participant is contacted the day before by the instructor to find out the sizes and thus prepare the equipment for the dive.
The lesson can be booked from April to October at 9 a.m. or 3 p.m.
Scuba diving 24 hours before an aeroplane flight is strongly discouraged as, due to the lower atmospheric pressure on board the plane, nitrogen, which may have remained in the body, may form bubbles inside the tissues that can obstruct blood flow.
