Discovery Scuba Diving in Lampedusa

Scuba diving on Lampedusa is a breathtaking experience, but only metaphorically!

Thanks to tanks and a regulator, you can swim up to 10 metres deep while breathing as if on land. But be careful, because this is not just a simple dive: Discovery Scuba Diving is the first step to becoming a real diver!

A theory lesson, practical exercises and a guided dive in the spectacular natural pool of Cala Pisana await you. At the end you will receive a certification valid for 6 months, which you can use as credit towards your PADI Open Water Diver certification.

What we will do

The appointment is at the time selected during the booking process at the meeting point in Lampedusa (AG). Waiting for us will be theinstructor, who will guide us in this first approach to the world of scuba diving.

We will begin with a theoretical lesson on land, in which we will learn the basic principles of breathing and buoyancy in water, the use of equipment, and the fundamental rules for diving safely.

Next, we will dive into the waters of Cala Pisana, a real natural swimming pool with a rocky and sandy seabed, characterised by crystal-clear waters. Here we will carry out practical exercises to familiarise ourselves with the equipment and learn basic techniques before the actual dive.

When we are ready, we will begin the gradual descent to a depth of 10 metres, under the supervision of the instructor. During the dive, we will be able to observe the wonderful marine fauna of the Mediterranean up close, including soles, groupers, moray eels, parrot fish and octopuses.

At the end of the activity we will receive a certification valid for 6 months, which will allow us to continue the course and obtain the PADI Open Water Diver licence.

The experience will last approximately 4 hours in total .

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 10 and up; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied on site by a responsible adult to sign a release form.

The activity is aimed at those wishing to approach scuba diving for the first time and learn the safety rules, use of equipment and basic shallow-water diving skills.

No licence is required to participate.

A medical certificate is required in the case of illnesses such as asthma, heart problems, epilepsy and diabetes.

Other information

The experience takes place from April until October.

Free and/or paid parking spaces are available on site.

There are changing rooms with toilets, showers and lockers for storing personal items on site.
