Discover Taormina’s crystal-clear sea with Discovery Scuba Diving in the Isola Bella Marine Park!
You’ll be accompanied by a PADI instructor who will guide you, one fin stroke at a time, on your first scuba dive, down to a depth of 12 metres.
This experience is designed for those who have no (or very little) experience!
What we will do
We’ll meet 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Giardini-Naxos (ME). There, we’ll be met by the PADI instructor who will accompany us on our first scuba dive.
After a briefing on the equipment and the basic theory required to ensure a safe experience, we’ll set off by boat from the harbour towards the Isola Bella Marine Park in Taormina. During the boat trip, we’ll admire the coastline and the famous Blue Grotto.
The first dive will take place at a depth of 6 metres, following a briefing on hand signals, equipment, breathing techniques and equalisation, including some basic exercises.
After a break on board with fresh fruit, iced tea and water, we’ll go on our second dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres ( sea conditions permitting) . Once underwater, we’ll be able to immerse ourselves in a world teeming with moray eels, octopuses, white seabream, groupers, damselfish, scorpionfish and starfish.
Both dives will take place under the supervision and in the company of the instructor, in small groups of 2–3 people.
After the dives, with music playing in the background, almond biscuits and Sicilian wine will be served on board. At the end of the activity, we’ll return by boat to the starting point.
The experience will last approximately 5 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for children aged 10 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult to the diving centre. Accompanying adults who wish to board the boat without taking part in the activity are required to pay €50. 00, payable on site.
You do not need to be able to swim to take part in the activity, and no diving qualifications are required.
The activity is not permitted for anyone suffering from cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, asthma, those who have undergone surgery in the last 12 months, those with a cold, or those taking medication. If in doubt, please consult your GP to obtain a medical certificate.
Other information
The experience takes place from May to October and is confirmed once a minimum of two participants have signed up.
There are no changing rooms at the meeting point, but a toilet and a freshwater shower are available on board the boat. There is a designated area for storing small personal items.
The itinerary, timetable and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions, at the captain’s discretion.
Paid parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
