Obtaining a diving licence is a dream for every diving enthusiast... and this diving course in Maratea is just what you need to make it come true.

If you have a natural passion for the underwater world and all its creatures, in 30 hours of lessons you will learn the skills necessary to obtain the internationally recognised Open Water Diver certification.

You will then take your first steps into the world of diving together with an experienced instructor, ready to move on to the next levels!

What we will do

The appointment is at our diving centre in Maratea. Here you will meet theinstructor who will accompany you through the theoretical and practical lessons necessary to obtain your diving licence.

Depending on your skills, you will be able to choose a course from the different levels offered, such as Open Water Diverfor beginners (Junior Open Water Diver up to 15 years of age) or Advanced Open Water Diver for more experienced divers. Lessons will then be diversified according to the certification to be obtained.

The course consists of 30 hours of training, which can take place in 10 lessons of 3 hours or by combining several lessons in one day, based on the agreements you will make directly with the instructor.

Each lesson will be divided into two parts, one theoretical and one practical. The first part will take place on land at the diving centre and, for beginner divers, will consist of anintroduction to the underwater world, with micro-lessons on marine biology, an explanation of safety regulations, and a test of the use of all equipment.

In the second part we will test theoretical learning in practice and observe our improvements. We will carry out some dives at the beach of the Maratea Dock and do a final test in the open sea, with a boat taking us directly to the dive site.

Once you have completed the 30-hour course and passed the practical tests, you will be awarded Open Water Diver certification or higher.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is aimed at everyone from 10 years of age and up . A certificate of good health is required to register for the course.

Minors must be accompanied.

Other information

The activity is available all year round.

To obtain your diving licence, you must attend a total of 30 hours of training, i.e. 10 lessons of 3 hours each. Arrangements can be made directly with the instructor and you can choose whether to take lessons on consecutive days or combine several lessons on one day.

The cost of the course includes the rental of the complete diving equipment, including full tanks, and the award of the international diving licence: Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver or higher.

It is strongly discouraged to dive 24 hours before a flight.
