Discover the seabed of the Gulf of Catania in the company of an expert instructor, who will give you a fantastic experience in safety.
Dive down to 5 metres with your adventure companions and experience the thrill of exploring the underwater life of Sicily's east coast.
You will swim among shoals of wrasse and enjoy the view of lava rocks and expanses of sand, inhabited by underwater flora and fauna of unforgettable charm!
What we will do
We will meet with theinstructor at the selected time at the diving centre in Aci Castello. The outing will have a maximum of 4 participants, a small group that will allow us all to get to know each other and familiarise ourselves.
The instructor will provide us with all thenecessary equipment and we will reach the diving spot on foot. This is a point on the beach at Aci Castello where it is very easy to enter the water.
We will therefore dive into the waters of the Gulf of Catania calmly and reach a depth of 5 metres. We will thus discover the colours and the inhabitants of this stretch of the eastern coast of Sicily. The view of the seabed is truly spectacular with the irregular rocks, formed by lava flows, alternating with expanses of sand.
If we are lucky, we might see shoals of saddled bream, which owe their name to the large eyes that occupy almost the entire snout. Then there are octopuses, bream, sponges, sea fans and the pinna nobilis or nacchera, the largest mollusc in the Mediterranean capable of reaching a length of one metre.
The instructor will remain in the water with us for the duration of the dive, which lasts about 20 to 25 minutes, and the experience will last a total of three hours. At the end we will head back to the diving centre.

The activity is open to everyone over the age of 10. No patent is required.
Other information
Diving takes place daily from June until October, subject to weather and sea conditions.
Scuba diving 24 hours before an aeroplane flight is strongly discouraged, as, due to the lower atmospheric pressure on board the plane, nitrogen, which may have remained in the body, may form bubbles inside the tissues that can obstruct blood flow.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
