Full description
Get ready for an unusual underwater adventure in the Gulf of Catania.
You will dive with an underwater scooter, a propulsion water engine that will reduce your effort and oxygen consumption. This will allow you to swim effortlessly in the sea of Sicily to discover the underwater world.
Assisted by experienced instructors, you will explore the volcanic seabed of the area characterised by ancient lava flows and expanses of white sand.
This tour is the perfect mix of adrenaline, spirit of adventure and relaxation!
What we will do
The meeting with the instructor is at 08.30 in Aci Castello, in the province of Catania. After the various presentations, we will board a motor boat and set off in the direction of the Isole Ciclopi marine protected area in the Gulf of Catania.
During navigation, the instructor will explain the operation of the underwater scooter, an aquatic propulsion vehicle capable of reducing fatigue and oxygen consumption. Thanks to the propeller with which it is equipped, in fact, we will be able to move more agilely underwater.
Once we reach the dive site, we will be provided withdiving equipment, including the underwater scooter (equipment and scooter are included in the participation fee). At this point we can finally dive into the water and begin our incredible adventure.
In the company of the instructor, we will move with the underwater scooter to discover basalt columns, ancient lava flows and picturesque underwater canyons. The excursion will also take us close to World War II wrecks!
We will reach a depth of up to 18 metres where we will come into contact with various aquatic plants and sea creatures such as octopuses and seahorses. After the dive, which lasts about 1 hour, we will re-board and return to the starting point.
The total duration of the activity is 4 hours.

The minimum age for participation is 14 years.
