Do you know what we’d do if we had a day off?
We’d hire an e-bike, pop into a winery for a tasting lunch and spend the rest of the time cycling effortlessly through the Langhe hills.
If you like the idea, feel free to ‘steal it’. Just in case, we ’ll be waiting for you in Novello!
What we will do
The e-bike collection point is from 09: 00 at the meeting point in Novello (CN), where the staff will welcome us. After a brief introductory briefing on how the e-bike works and on the app for following the GPS routes, we’ll get on our bikes and set off on the excursion at our own pace.
We’ll cycle through the Langhe hills along secondary paths nestled amongst the Nebbiolo vineyards, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll head uphill towards the village of La Morra, enjoying the views over the valley and the surrounding castles.
We’ll then head downhill towards the hamlet of Annunziata, arriving at a historic local winery around lunchtime. Here, we’ll take a guided tour of the winemaking and ageing cellars. Afterwards, we’ll sit down to a delicious lunch.
The menu will consist of a trio of seasonal Piedmontese starters, a choice of either a traditional first or second course , and a typical dessert . The meal will be accompanied by a tasting of five selected wines from the winery, including the renowned Barolo.
Once our stop is over, we’ll get back on our bikes to complete the circular route, stopping for a photo at the Giant Red Bench in Santa Maria before admiring the final views of the Barolo valley.
We will then return to the meeting point. The hire period will last a maximum of 10 hours (from 09: 00 to 19: 00), depending on the time of collection and return of the bike.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is easy and suitable for everyone. Wine tasting is restricted to adults only.
Bike hire is available to those aged 18 and over, whilst for younger children there are special e-bikes available for heights between 135 and 155 cm, or child seats/trailers ( additional cost to be paid on site) .
Other information
Bikes are available for hire from approximately February to December.
The hire service offers trekking e-bikes, ideal for road cycling or light off-road riding and for attaching a child seat, or Front MTB e-bikes designed to tackle off-road trails with ease. Both models have an approximate range of 80–120 km per charge and 4 levels of assistance ( 25% , 50% , 100% , 150% ).
On request, child seats ( up to 25 kg) are available at an extra cost of €5, Co-pilot bike seats ( 6–8 years) at €15 and child trailer trolleys (up to 35 kg) at €15, all to be paid for on site on the day of the activity. Dogs are welcome to take part using the special dog trailer (maximum load 45 kg) , available on request at a cost of €15, payable on the day.

Free parking is available on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
Changing rooms with showers are also available at the meeting point. In the event of a puncture or mechanical breakdown along the route, a recovery service is included.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
