E-bike tour to the Promontory Dannunziano on the Trabocchi Coast

Enjoy a relaxing e-bike tour along the Costa dei Trabocchi and discover the ancient maritime traditions of the mid-Adriatic with our local guides.

Pedalling along the Abruzzo coastline you will encounter numerous trabocchi, the ancient fishing structures on stilts, until you reach the Promontorio Dannunziano, a strip of land stretching out into the sea. You will also enjoy a pleasant stop, tasting the classic 'stozza' and a typical Abruzzo sweet.

It will be a ride at a leisurely pace, suitable for the whole family, to experience the sea from a different point of view and keep active while on holiday.

What we will do

We will meet near theAbbey of San Giovanni in Venere, at the beautiful and welcoming Agriturismo il Casale di San Giovanni in Fossacesia, in the province of Chieti.

We will get acquainted with the guide and the rest of the group, and we will be given e-bikes and a tasting box prepared by the agriturismo with the classic 'stozza' and a typical sweet (included). We will then have a short introductory briefing and be ready to set off.

Pedalling northwards, we will be able to admire many trabocchi, such as Punta Rocciosa, Pesce Palombo, Punta Cavalluccio, Punta Torre , and many others. These are places of incomparable beauty, which preserve the signs of time and the charm of ancient fishing stories.

About halfway along the route, we will make a stop to recharge our batteries and consume the tasting package prepared for us. Afterwards, we will reach the D'Annunzio Promontory, from where the famous writer admired the Turchino overflow.

During the tour, the guide will tell us about the history and traditions surrounding these places, and after a scenic stop to capture the landscape, we will return to the starting point, concluding the tour with a visit to the Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere.

The route is about 25 km, with a total duration of 3 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is open to everyone, the important thing is to be atleast 160 cm tall (140 for children) and weigh a maximum of 100 kg. The assisted pedalling with which the e-bikes are equipped makes the excursion suitable even for those who are not particularly well trained.

Attention! Please arrive at least 30 minutes in advance.

The activity takes place from March to October and is confirmed when there are at least 2 participants.

For children less than 140 cm tall and with a maximum weight of 45 kg, it is possible to request a trolley for an extra charge of €10 (payable locally). It is also possible to request a dog trolley, again at an extra cost of €10 (payable locally). If interested, please request this directly from the guide after booking confirmation.
