Full description
A typical lunch in front of a spectacular panorama would be a great reward to repay the effort of a ride. But the best news is that you won't have to struggle.
Come and experience an eight-and-a-half-hour e-bike tour of the most beautiful locations in the Langhe, enjoy the views between Barolo and Grinzane Cavour and take advantage of lunch to celebrate this day of wonder.
So, what are you doing? Do you deprive yourself of it?
What we will do
We will meet in Alba (CN), at the meeting point and time indicated in the booking.
Our guide will be waiting for us, ready to take us through the most beautiful locations in the Langhe on board thee-bike. Before setting off, we will spend 1 hour taking part in a pre-departure briefing and finalising the bike setup. Our tour will begin in the streets of the characteristic historic centre of Alba, and then continue to the vaults of Roddi, with its Barbaresco and Nebbiolo vineyards.
Even more than for wine, however, this area is famous for its truffles. Here, in fact, we will have the unique opportunity to enter the garden of a castle, home to a real school for truffle dogs! Inside a truffle planting field, we will discover how our four-legged friends learn to find these highly prized mushrooms, and the history of the local tradition related to them.
At this point, we will get back in the saddle and head towards Verduno, a picturesque village in the north of the Langhe famous for its views. As we ride to La Morra, we will discover a wonderful place: in the central square of the village, there is an unmissable panoramic terrace , a veritable balcony over the Langhe. In addition to the enchanting view, this area is famous for the finest Nebbiolo and Barolo grapes.
We will then set off again to reach Barolo, discovering and admiring it on our e-bikes. Before arriving, on the way we will encounter the colourful Brunate Chapel: photo stop, obligatory! Arriving in Castiglione Falletto, we will come across numerous estates, among the most prized in the Langhe. Among these, we will visit that of Fontanafredda, one of the best known and most appreciated: here we will be able to admire the marvellous estate, without, however, experiencing the wine tasting.
We will then drive to Grinzane Cavour, the last stop on our tour, passing through a series of picturesque vineyards. During the excursion, we will stop for lunch in a winery-restaurant between Barolo and Castiglione Falletto. Lunch will consist of two courses and dessert, excluding drinks.
After the last stretch on the road, we will return to the starting point, enjoying the most beautiful corners of the Alta Langa, home of nougat. The route will be about 50 km long.
The total duration of the experience will be 8.5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 130 cm upwards. A minimum of athletic training is required.
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied. Minors between the ages of 15 and 17 can participate independently by presenting a signed release form.
Other information
The activity is available from March to November, and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 6 participants.
During the activity, bi-dampened carbon Haibike B5 CF6 e-bikes with 650WH battery and Yamaha 900x motor or similar models will be used. For children, Lapierre non-dampened e-bikes will be used instead.
Participants with food allergies or intolerances can contact the organiser in advance to inform them of their needs.
To take out CPR insurance (optional, €15) please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email. Payment will be made on site, in cash.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport; parking is available on site.
