Get ready to discover the wildest and most ancestral side of the Island of Elba!
Riding an e-bike you will cross the red earth of Monte Calamita, pedalling along panoramic paths suspended between the Mediterranean maquis and the blue of the archipelago. Then the adventure changes pace: you leave your bike and, together with an environmental guide, enter the tunnels of the Ginevro Mine, one of the most advanced in Europe.
Three intense hours of spectacular views, dirt road driving and stories from the depths of the earth.
What we will do
The meeting point is 20 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Lacona (LI), where the MTB FCI guide will welcome us. After an initial briefing on riding technique, we will get on the saddle and set off on the excursion.
The route will be entirely on dirt roads inside a spectacular 450-hectare estate, among Mediterranean forests and incredible views of the Elban coastline. We will cycle towards Monte Calamita, passing through landscapes of iron tones and stopping at historic mining sites such as the Vallone shipyard.
After about an hour in the saddle, we will reach the entrance to the Ginevro Mine. Here the guided tour inside the mine will begin, lasting about 1 hour. Together with an environmental guide, we will enter the underground tunnels and descend to a depth of -24 metres. We will be fascinated by the history of the tunnels and anecdotes about the life of the miners, immersed in an evocative atmosphere.
Once we have ascended to the surface, we will take our e-bikes back to the starting point. The activity will last about 3 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is of an easy level and is aimed at everyone over the age of 12. A minimum height of 135 cm is required to ride the e-bike; minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
In order to participate, it is necessary to know how to ride a bike and have a minimum of riding skills on dirt or asphalt roads.
The excursion is not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia due to the visit inside the tunnels.
Other information
The experience can be booked every day from May to October.
On request, an optional transfer service can be provided from your accommodation or hotel in Capoliveri and the surrounding area to reach the starting point (extra service not included in the fee, variable according to distance) .
Child seats or baby carriages are not available.
Dogs are not allowed on the excursion.
The temperature inside the mines is a constant 15-16°C, so it is highly recommended to bring a jacket.
There is free parking on site at the starting point. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
