Full description
Looking for a simple and relaxing out-of-town cycling trip? The Naviglio Grande cycle path from Milan to Ticino is a route to be taken by e-bike to discover the history of Milan and its surroundings, totally immersed in the Lombardy countryside.
The cycle path follows the Naviglio on the Alzaia for about 20 km, but can be extended as far as Morimondo and Bereguardo, entering the Ticino Valley Natural Park. This guided excursion is within everyone's reach and has a total duration of about 7 hours, including a bike ride and transfer to and from Borgosesia (VC).
What we will do
The appointment is at 8.30 a.m. at the meeting point communicated in the booking confirmation in Borgosesia (VC). From here we will depart by transfer in the direction of Oleggio to reach Ponte sul Ticino.
On the saddle of our e-bikes we will be ready to begin our adventure along the Navigli. We will cross the Ticino Regional Park, between very quiet cycle paths, and head towards Turbigo, with its famous hydroelectric power station. Here the cycle paths will give way to roads along the Navigli, and then resume at Abbiategrasso.
Despite being mostly close to built-up areas, the route enjoys very suggestive views. Even on foggy days, we can photograph the landscape from every angle, to capture its iridescent shades of colour.
On our way to Porta Ticinese, we will pass near Vicolo dei Lavandai, where we can admire an incredible wash-house dating back to the last century. A testimony to a time when there was no washing machine and you had to rely only on your own hands! Another curiosity is that it was not women who did the washing here, but men.
Our adventure on two wheels will end on the Darsena di Porta Ticinese in Milan. After refreshments at one of the many restaurants in the area (lunch not included, to be paid for by participants), we will move on to Piazza del Duomo and then to Castello Sforzesco. From here, the transfer will take us back to Borgosesia.
The activity has a total duration of approximately 7 hours.

Other information
The tour is bookable from March to June and from September to November and is confirmed with a minimum of 5 participants.
Please note: the cycle path along the Navigli is very busy, please follow the instructions provided by the MTB guide.
