E-bike tour through the olive groves of Itri with oil tasting

Treat yourself to ane-bike excursion with organic oliveoil tasting in the Itri area , in the province of Latina.

The 25 km route will take you through different settings, one more evocative than the other. You will first pass through the narrow streets of the medieval village of Campodimele and then reach the Piana di Sant'Onofrio, where you will find horses and cows grazing.

Still riding your e-bike, you will reach the 2000-planted olive grove of Masseria Raino, where you can stop to taste the olive oil and olives of the Itrana cultivar, along with bruschetta with pate. You will feel on your palate all the flavour of the organically produced oil. We are waiting for you!

What we will do

We will meet at Passo San Nicola in Itri, where our guide will be waiting for us with helmets and e-bikes (included). After putting on our helmets and climbing into the saddle, we will ride along an initial downhill section of asphalt road, which will be followed by an uphill section that will take us to the medieval village of Campodimele.

Having entered Campodimele on the e-bike, we will ride through the typical narrow village streets and then descend towards the Piana di Sant'Onofrio. On the way, we can admire the outline of an ancient monastery, after which we first ride along an asphalted stretch and then a dirt road. We will enjoy a wonderful natural landscapewith cows and horses grazing on the large plain. With a bit of luck, we may even spot some wild animals in the Monti Aurunci Park.

We will then continue, still cycling, until we reach the Masseria Raino, with its 2000 olive grove. The trees are all of the Itrana cultivar, from which the farm produces extra virgin olive oil and olives for pickling.

We will thus have the opportunity to taste an oil that is truly produced using an organic cultivation system. The milling takes place on the same day as the harvest in modern mills with a continuous cycle, which allows us to have a fragrant and tasty oil. We will be able to taste it during the tasting (included) at the masseria, which also includes bruschetta with pate and olives.

After the stop, we return to the starting point, covering a total of 25 km in about 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The excursion is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. The important thing is to be at least 140 centimetres tall, so that you can use a small adult-sized e-bike.

On request it is possible to add

• a special child trolley with a maximum weight of 25 kg;
• a special one-wheel trolley for transporting a dog weighing up to 20 kg.

The activity takes place throughout the year, and is reserved for private groups of up to 8 participants.
