Full description
Set off to discover theupper Formazza Valley and its stunning views on aguided half-day e-bike tour. The tour starts above the spectacular Toce waterfall, which with its 143 m drop is considered one of the highest and most beautiful in Europe.
Pedal along Lake Morasco and follow the Via del Sale, a historic route connecting Domodossola with Lucerne in Switzerland. This itinerary is perfect for those who want to enjoy the mountains while doing physical activity within everyone's reach. We look forward to seeing you in the saddle!
What we will do
The meeting point is Crodo (VC) at 09:00. From here we will then move on to Riale, the starting point of the excursion.
This little village will surprise us with its characteristic Walser dwellings, one of the oldest settlements in the valley. We will also be able to admire the Toce Waterfall, one of the highest in Europe with its majestic 143 m waterfall.
Riding our electric bikes and accompanied by a MTB guide, we will start cycling on a wide dirt road to the Maria Luisa hut, at 2157 m altitude. From here we will continue along the Toggia Lake, an artificial lake nestling in the mountains, and then on an easy path to the San Giacomo pass, at an altitude of 2308 m.
On reaching the San Giacomo pass, which is the Alpine pass separating Italy from Switzerland, we turn back and take the diversions to Lake Kastel, another magnificent lake in the valley.
Once back in Riale, we will dismount from the e-bikes to enjoy some well-deserved rest with lunch at the Maria Luisa hut (not included, to be paid for by participants) or packed lunch.
The total duration of the activity will be about 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for all cyclists with a minimum of experience, from the age of 14 .
The route has a medium to easy technical difficulty: the motor of the pedal-assisted bike makes the climbs easy, while the descents present no particular difficulty.
Other information
The tour is bookable from May to October and is confirmed with a minimum of 5 participants.
It is very important to follow the MTB guide's instructions throughout the activity.

If you have made a fixed-date booking and the weather conditions are not suitable for safely carrying out the activity (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be fully refunded. The guide may offer you an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to accept or decline these proposals. If you cannot reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund!
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
