Full description
To each their own favourite snack: some can’t do without bread, salami and good wine, whilst others – like the cute little piglets on this farm – are mad about milk and biscuits!
In Monforte d’Alba, amidst the iconic landscapes of the Langhe, your guide Monia will welcome you for a two-hour tour to discover her farm and the farming traditions of Piedmont.
Between playing with Zac the dog, giving the donkeys a cuddle and enjoying a classic ‘merenda sinoira’, you’ll experience an authentic and rejuvenating break in the fresh air!
What we will do
We’ll meet at the time indicated at the meeting point in Monforte d’Alba (CN) . Our guide will be there to welcome us to their farm! After a warm welcome, they will outline the itinerary for the visit and explain how to interact with the animals in complete comfort.
We’ll start with a walk through the beautiful Langa hills, passing through the Nebbiolo vineyards, the hazelnut grove, the vegetable garden and the orchard. The guide will reveal the secrets of the area’s biodiversity and seasonal work, giving us the chance to get hands-on with some vineyard activities ( depending on the season) .
We’ll then head to the heart of the estate to make friends with the animals. We’ll meet Zac, the big, cuddly dog who’s always up for a snuggle, and we’ll be able to give the little donkeys some gentle hugs. We’ll also meet some cute little piglets with a sweet tooth for biscuits, ready to roll over onto their backs, before admiring rabbits, ducks, chickens and peacocks.
After saying goodbye to our feathered and four-legged friends, we’ll sit outdoors to enjoy a traditional ‘merenda sinoira’. We’ll raise a glass of excellent local wine, accompanied by bread and salami, toasted hazelnuts and other locally sourced farm produce.
The activity will last approximately 2 hours in total .
