In the Maiella Park you can find wolves, bears, deer and other fascinating animals: just hop in a vintage jeep and follow a guide to the most strategic observation points in the area! Thanks to professional equipment, you will be able to spot wildlife that would go unnoticed by the naked eye. And between one sighting and another you will enjoy a delicious typical aperitif!

What we will do
Please arrive at the meeting point in Campo di Giove (AQ) at the time indicated, where your guide will be waiting to take you on this exclusive adventure in a vintage off-road vehicle.
After a brief introduction to the Maiella National Park, you’ll climb aboard the jeep and set off along a route of approximately 13 km to reach the best spots for spotting wildlife. During the first part of the excursion, you’ll lie in wait until darkness falls: the park will come to life and you’ll be able to try and spot some animals using the optical equipment provided (included) .
At the end of this first part, you’ll be offered a simple aperitif ( included) featuring traditional Abruzzo specialities, accompanied by a glass of wine or juice. It’s the perfect moment to recharge your batteries and share the excitement of the first part of the activity.
You’ll then resume the excursion with the second phase of night-time observation, using sophisticated thermal and optical equipment to try and spot the park’s most elusive wildlife. If you’re lucky, you might spot wolves, bears, red deer, wild boar, roe deer, foxes and nocturnal birds of prey!
Finally, you’ll return to the starting point by jeep.
The activity will last approximately 4 hours in total.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone aged 6 and over. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Children present must be able to follow the guide's instructions, which are essential for the safety and success of the excursion. To make a reservation for a child between the ages of 6 and 10, please contact us!
The experience is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with walking difficulties.
Other information
The activity is available from May to November, on the dates listed on the calendar ( which is constantly updated) . Each off-road vehicle can accommodate up to 8 participants, plus the guide. This is an exclusive experience.

The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, but there is both free and paid parking available on site.
The use of mobile phones is prohibited during the night-time part of the experience, and you may not publish any images taken with night-vision equipment without the guide’s written authorisation.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is very flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
