They say the grass is always greener on the other side: prove them wrong by sitting down in a meadow overlooking the Chianti Hills for a picnic!
The organisers of the experience will welcome you at the Castello Radda Winery and provide everything you need for an exclusive picnic, during which you can enjoy delicious wine and stuffed schiacciate. And, if you’d like, you can also visit the rooms where the wine is produced!
Get ready for two hours of relaxation and culinary delights!
What we will do
The event will take place at the selected time at the Castello di Radda Winery in Radda in Chianti (SI). You’ll be welcomed by a member of the family, who will guide you through the property’s beautiful gardens to your exclusive picnic on the lawn.
You won’t need to bring anything, as the organisers will set up a picnic area with a blanket and cushions, situated right in front of the magnificent view of the Chianti Classico hills! You’ll be given a traditional wooden box containing crockery, napkins, glasses and water, as well as a bottle of wine of your choice – either a red or a rosé. To accompany the wine, you’ll enjoy two traditional gourmet schiacciate (one filled with Tuscan prosciutto, sun-dried tomato cream and rocket; the other with fresh pecorino, acacia honey and Tuscan salami) .
Finally, you’ll round off the meal with some delicious cantucci, accompanied by a taste of rosé vermouth!
If you selected the ‘Picnic + winery tour’ option when booking, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the winery’s production areas before the picnic. You’ll walk through the areas dedicated to winemaking and learn about every stage of the production process, from the initial fermentation to the ageing phase in the wooden barrel cellar.
The total duration of the experience will vary depending on how long guests stay. Please allow approximately 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for everyone, with no age restrictions. There are no specific options for children aged 0 to 3 years, whilst for children aged 4 and over, you can arrange the filling for the schiacciata with the organisers. If the activity takes place in the estate’s gardens, it is not accessible to wheelchair users or those with reduced mobility. On request, it can be moved to an accessible gazebo on the estate. To request this, please contact the organisers using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email.
The venue is accessible with pushchairs.
Other information
The experience takes place from May to September, Monday to Saturday. The activity is aimed at private groups of up to 10 people.
Please note! When booking, you can choose between the ‘Picnic only’ or ‘Picnic + winery tour’ options, depending on your preference.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
If you have any food allergies and/or intolerances, please contact the organisers in advance using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know.
Small dogs on a lead are permitted; during the winery tour, they must be held in their owner’s arms or kept in a pet carrier.
In the event of bad weather, the experience will be postponed or held indoors, at the customer’s discretion.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
