Full description

If you think birdwatching is just something you see in documentaries, the Comacchio Valleys will change your mind!

You’ll board a motorboat to explore one of the most fascinating areas of the Po Delta, amongst reed beds, black-winged stilts and flocks of pink flamingos.

During this 1-hour-and-45-minute excursion, you’ll sail to the Fattibello Valley and round off the experience with an aperitif on board, surrounded by tranquillity.

What we will do

We’ll meet 30 minutes before departure time at Porto Garibaldi (FE), a hamlet of Comacchio. The crew who will be accompanying us on this cruise through the Comacchio Marshes will be waiting for us there.

After boarding, we’ll set sail along the navigable canal leading into the heart of the historic part of the Po Delta. During the crossing, we’ll catch a glimpse of the town of Comacchio on our right, known for its deep connection to fishing and lagoon traditions.

We’ll continue through wide stretches of water, reed beds and wetlands until we reach the Fattibello Valley, one of the area’s most distinctive landscapes and a key habitat for local wildlife.

Along the way, we’ll see the traditional ‘bilancioni’ still used by fishermen and, in the distance, the area of the ancient salt pans which for centuries have contributed to Comacchio’s economic history.

With a bit of luck, we may spot some of the species that inhabit these valleys, including pink flamingos, great white egrets, mallards, marsh harriers and avocets.

Before the excursion ends, we’ll relax with an aperitif on board – a spritz or a soft drink – accompanied by a small selection of fried seafood.

Once the boat trip is over, we’ll return to the starting point. The activity will last a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
