Have you ever experienced the thrill of sliding on snow, pushed by the strength and energy of Siberian Husky?
Get ready to experience an extraordinary adventure among the snows of Val Comelico, in the setting of the Dolomites, where the silence of the forest joins the rhythm of the sled pulled by our tireless and sweet four-legged friends: Nanuk, Yukon, Brandy, Hender and many others.
A30-minute ride through the snow, 1 hour total of thrills: are you ready to be captivated by this exciting dog sledding experience?
What we will do
The appointment is at the time selected when booking in Santo Stefano di Cadore (BL), in the heart of Val Comelico. We will be welcomed by Lorenzo, musher and dog instructor, who will guide us step by step through this incredible experience.
We will begin with a 10-15 minute briefing, in which we will get to know the real protagonists of the day: the splendid Siberian Huskies and Samoyedos. Nanuk, Yukon, Brandy, Hender and the other members of the pack are waiting for us, ready to win us over with their sweetness and contagious energy.
When everything is ready, Lorenzo will hook up six dogs to the sled. Wetsuit loaded, sled ready... and finally the moment we've been waiting for arrives: off we go!
The route will run for 2.5 km through a snowy forest surrounded by the magic of the Dolomites. Gentle ascents and descents will make the experience exciting and fun, while we will be able to admire spectacular views of the mountains and the surrounding nature.
The sleigh ride will last about 30 minutes. During the ride Lorenzo will be with us, ready to drive the sleigh or, for those who feel up to it, to let go of the lead: you can try driving the sleigh yourself under his careful supervision, snow conditions permitting. It will be a very special moment, when you can experience the thrill of being a real musher!
Between the welcome, briefing, preparation and ride, the whole experience lasts about 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is open to everyone, aged 4 years and over and weighing less than 100 kg.
A maximum of 2 participants can ride the sledge at a time:
- 2 Adults (13 years and older)
- 1 Adult + 1 Child (up to 12 years)
Children up to the age of 12 may only ride the sledge if accompanied by an adult. Children aged 13 to 17 can also participate alone on the sledge, provided they are accompanied on site by a parent or responsible adult.
The activity is strongly discouraged for those suffering from back problems or pregnant women.
Other information
The experience is available from December to March.
Sledge driving can be tried out in person, always under the supervision of the experienced musher and only if snow and weather conditions permit.
Dogs or other animals are not allowed during the activity.
