Did you know that the Harris's buzzard has eyesight 8 times sharper than yours?
Discover this and other curiosities about the fascinating world of birds of prey with a2-hour falconry experience at Fontanellato, in the Parma countryside.
Together with a falconer you will learn the tricks and secrets of the trade, and then experience an exciting glove christening. An activity suitable for all ages!
What we will do
The meeting will take place in Fontanellato (PR) at the time indicated for the activity.
Here we will meet the falconer who will assist us in this experience of approaching the world of birds of prey. The activity will begin with an interactive theoretical part lasting about 30 minutes, during which the falconer will give us a brief outline of falconry and notions of the biology and habits of birds of prey.
Afterwards, we will begin to get to grips with the animals: we will get to know four Harris's buzzards up close, including Sakura and Venom. The falconer will show us how to feed them and how to interact with them.
The most exciting part will be the baptism of the glove: we will wear a real falconer's glove and experience holding a buzzard in our fist. Flanked by the falconer, we will try our hand at small flights by calling the bird of prey to the glove.
Of course, we won't be able to return home without first taking some photos with our bird of prey, against the backdrop of the Parma countryside!
The activity will last a total of 2 hours.

The activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Minors must be accompanied by an adult participant.
Children under the age of 6 can participate free of charge.
Wheelchair users may participate in this activity.
Other information
The activity is available at weekends from April to November.
For safety reasons, dogs are not allowed.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; free parking is available on site.
