Come and discover the extraordinary world of birds of prey in the Lari hills in the midst of greenery.
Near Casciana Terme Lari, you will have the opportunity to get to know more than 50 birds of prey and interact with some of them under the supervision of an expert falconer.
During the two and a half hours of theory you will learn interesting notions about birds of prey, while during the one and a half hours of practice you will be able to watch a flight demonstration and learn how to call some species to the fist. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
We will meet at the time selected during the booking process in Casciana Terme Lari (PI). Here the falconer will welcome us, introducing us to his park of several hectares where we will feel as if we are entering an enchanted world.
The facility, immersed in the green hills of Lari, is one of the largest of its kind in Italy and is home to no less than 55 different specimens with 35 different species of birds of prey: griffons, eagles, barn owls, owls and many others. After a briefing to learn the rules to be observed inside the facility, we will be ready to start our guided tour to get to know the birds of prey up close.
The falconer will enchant us with a technical-scientific explanation of each species, with hints of ethology and the history of falconry, to get to know all their secrets and unique characteristics. We will learn how to recognise birds of prey in this theoretical phase lasting about 2½ hours, learning what a bird of prey is, its morphology and physiology, and its importance in nature.
At this point we will be ready to move on to the practical part where we will learn how to use typical falconry equipment and watch a flight demonstration by the falconer. It will then be our turn to get involved: we will be able to interact with different birds of prey, such as buzzards, tawny owls or barn owls, and try our hand at flying the bird of prey and calling it to our fist. The falconer will assist us at all times to ensure maximum safety.
The activity will last a total of 4 hours, including 2½ hours of theory and 1½ hours of practice.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is recommended from 10 years of age. For children up to 9 years of age , there is a reduced rate of €79, which can be selected at the time of booking.
Up to the age of 16, it is necessary to be accompanied by an adult to take part in the activity; 17-year-olds need only have a signed authorisation from a parent.
People with disabilities are welcome: once you have made your booking, please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to indicate your presence and request support. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

The experience takes place on Sundays, all year round and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport. There is ample private parking on site.
For safety reasons, dogs are not allowed to take part in the experience.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
