First flight in helicopter in the province of Bari

Looking at the landscape from the top of a helicopter? Beautiful. Doing it while flying? A whole different story.

In Altamura, in the heart of the Alta Murgia, you can experience a YO-YO helicopter flight baptism, sitting in the pilot's seat.

It's not the classic scenic flight: in about 1 hour of experience and 20 minutes of flight time you will put your hands on the controls, try the vertical take-off, play with the flight set-ups and really begin to understand how to control a helicopter!

What we will do

The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Altamura (BA) . At the agreed time, the preparation of the aircraft will already be complete; you can attend the pre-flight checks by showing up 30 minutes before the selected time.

To begin with, the instructor will give you a practical introduction to the world of aviation: how the rotary wing works, what the controls are, why the helicopter can stop in the air and move in all directions. No boring theory, just what you need to understand what is going to happen.

Then you board the YO-YO helicopter, a two-seater aircraft with dual controls designed specifically for training and flight experience. This means one very simple thing: you will actually try to fly it, always with the instructor at your side to guide you and intervene when needed. After the vertical take-off, you will experience different flight set-ups, basic manoeuvres and control of the helicopter as you fly over the Alta Murgia from above.

The flight of about 20-25 minutes will end with the return and vertical landing at the starting point. Between briefing, preparation and flight, the experience will last about 1 hour in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 16 and over. Persons under the age of 18 must have signed authorisation from both parents.

Amaximum height of 1.95 metres and a maximum weight of 100 kg are required to participate.

The experience is suitable for people with motor disabilities in their lower limbs. Please contact the flight school at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to request the service.

Other information

Caution! The helicopter flight is an experience strictly dependent on weather conditions. The instructor will contact you 1 day before the agreed date to confirm the feasibility of the flight based on the latest weather report.

The experience takes place all year round.

The itinerary and timetable may vary according to weather conditions at the instructor's discretion.

Any accompanying persons may wait at the flight school. Dogs are allowed at the flight school.

During the flight, mobile phones and/or video cameras may be brought along to take photos or record short videos, subject to the instructor's permission. The use of devices is only permitted if it does not interfere with safety and the course of the experience; the instructor will indicate when and how it can be used.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
