If you love the mountains, enjoy skiing and want to be in close contact with nature, ski mountaineering is the discipline for you: discover it with an introductory day with an Alpine Guide.
You will learn the technique for the ascent with sealskins and descent by skiing on fresh snow and experiencing the adrenaline of off-piste skiing.
The backdrop to this adventure will be the extraordinary landscapes of the most beautiful locations in Valtellina and the adjacent valleys. Ready to go?
What we will do
The meeting point for the activity is set at 8:00 am at the Alpine Guide 's office in Caspoggio (SO). Once the group is formed (4 to 8 participants), we will move to the location selected for the ski mountaineering day. This will vary depending on the calendar and weather conditions, but will always be located in the Valtellina area or in adjacent valleys such as Valmalenco, Valchiavenna, Engadine or Orobie Valtellinesi.
Once on site, we will have an introductory lesson on ski mountaineering, get to know thespecific equipment and learn the basic rules of self-rescue using probe, shovel and artva, tools necessary for any off-piste outing.
We will practise ascent techniques using seal skins, while for the descent we will tackle off-piste routes, experiencing the thrill of skiing in fresh powder snow.
The activity lasts a total of about 6 hours and includes a packed lunch.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is open to anyone who would like to try ski touring. Previous experience in the discipline is not required, but it is necessary to know how to ski and be familiar with downhill runs on red pistes. You can participate from 14 years of age.

This activity can be booked on the dates indicated in the calendar and is confirmed when there are at least 4 participants.
Attention! Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time of the activity. Thetime selected when booking is purely indicative. The guide will contact you the day before the experience to inform you of the exact time based on the best conditions.
Theski mountaineering equipment and safety kit (probe, shovel and artva) are not included in the participation fee and can be rented at an extra cost of €37 and €20 respectively (you can request the rental after booking).
