First ultralight flight at dawn in Lodi

Sunrise over the River Po deserves a view to match. Let’s say 600 metres.

In San Rocco al Porto, in the province of Lodi, you’ll experience your first flight at the most magical time of day:dawn. Accompanied by a qualified instructor, you’ll fly for around 30–40 minutes, following the river’s bends, whilst the first light illuminates the countryside and villages at the foot of the Emilian Apennines.

And who knows, you might do more than just admire the view: if conditions are favourable, you can try your hand at flying the microlight under the instructor’s supervision. Get ready for take-off!

What we will do

We’ll meet just before dawn in San Rocco al Porto (LO), where we’ll meet the instructor who’ll be guiding us through the experience. We’ll start by preparing the microlight, checking the fuselage, the wings and the engine together, and getting a close-up look at the procedures that take place before a flight.

Once the checks are complete, we’ll climb aboard and go through the final pre-flight procedures: starting the engine, the checklist and the instructor’s instructions. Then, at last, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: take-off.

We’ll gain altitude just as the landscape begins to light up with the first rays of dawn. We’ll start with a circuit to check the conditions, before continuing on our route.

We’ll follow the meanders of the River Po, admiring villages and countryside from above with the Emilian Apennines on the horizon, until we reach an altitude of around 600 metres. The instructor will guide us through the different stages of the flight and, if conditions are favourable and at his sole discretion, may give us the chance to try the controls under his constant supervision.

After about 30–40 minutes of flying, we’ll return to the airfield and land at San Rocco al Porto. Including preparation, the briefing and the flight itself, the experience will last around one and a half hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is open to everyone over the age of 14 and in good health. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied on site by a parent or responsible adult or present signed consent.

The flight is not suitable for heart patients or persons suffering from claustrophobia, epilepsy or similar; in addition, a weight of less than 95 kg and a height of less than 190 cm are required to participate.

The activity takes place all year round.

The departure time may vary depending on the weather and time of year and will be confirmed to you by the pilot after booking.

The aircraft can only carry one passenger in addition to the pilot.
