If you are a passionate fisherman, aboat trip to Maratea is exactly what you need.
Whether you are a novice or not, spending a day with an experienced fisherman will be an exciting experience that will test your skills.
Set off from the city's marina, let the waves carry you, cast your hook and wait for the fish to bite. And if they don't, it doesn't matter, because you will find consolation in the exquisite Lucanian aperitif included. We are waiting for you!
What we will do
We will leave at 9:00 am from the marina in Maratea and decide how to organise the day according to the experience of the participants.
If you want to learn sea fishing from scratch, we will show you how to use the equipment and perfect various techniques under the watchful eye of an experienced fisherman.
Aboard our boat, we will sail to the most fishy areas of the Gulf of Policastro , covering a maximum of 12 nautical miles, ready to intercept bass, bream, mullet , and other deep-sea inhabitants.
While waiting for some fish to bite our hook, we will distract ourselves with a tasty aperitif of typical Lucanian products (included). In short, it will be a relaxing and instructive day to discover Basilicata from another point of view.
But the experience will not end with just fishing and an aperitif: in fact, the catch will be given to participants as a gift or directly cooked on board the boat!
At the end of our day of sport fishing, we will return to the port of Maratea.
The activity will last about 6 hours.

The boat used for the fishing trip is an 8-metre motorboat, equipped with a large awning, freshwater shower, refrigerator and toilet.
The aperitif included in the price includes: canapés with local fish products, homemade botargo, tuna in oil, mackerel, olive cream, turnip cream, beans, tomatoes, cruschi peppers, single-serving bagged potatoes, fresh seasonal produce, sparkling wine and other drinks. Those who suffer from any food allergies or intolerances are asked to contact the organisation at the contact details received in the booking confirmation.
Fuel is included for distances up to 12 nautical miles. For longer distances, extra fuel is charged on a per-km basis.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
