Have you ever wanted to step into the shoes of a real sailor and explore the sea in an authentic way? Cast off and get ready for an unforgettable adventure along the coast of beautiful Catania, where ancient seafaring traditions meet total relaxation.
Together with an experienced crew, you’ll sail towards the legendary Faraglioni rocks off Acitrezza for a day of fishing tourism. There’ll be plenty of refreshing stops for a dip in the blue waters and a lunch of the freshest seafood cooked right on board.
You’ll enjoy an unforgettable day, combining the charm of life on board with the authentic flavours of Sicily!
What we will do
We’re due to meet 30 minutes before 09: 30 at the meeting point in Catania (CT). The skipper and his crew will be there to welcome us and accompany us on our trip. As soon as we come on board, we’ll be greeted with a lovely welcome cocktail accompanied by delicious canapés.
The boat will set sail towards the stunning area of Acitrezza and its Faraglioni. Once we arrive, we’ll watch and take part in the process of casting the fishing gear into the water, setting the nets and hooks, just like real sailors.
After setting up the gear, we’ll move closer to the coast, stopping right beneath the Faraglioni to enjoy a splendid view of Acitrezza Castle. Here we’ll stop for a swim, whilst the crew prepares lunch.
Lunch will be served al fresco under the awning and will include a delicious starter of cooked and raw fish, followed by a first course prepared with the catch of the day, fresh from the fishing boats. All this will be accompanied by water and a glass of wine or another drink of your choice.
Before heading back, we’ll sail out to sea once more to retrieve our equipment and collect the catch from our fishing trip. We’ll also have the wonderful opportunity to take home some of the day’s catch .
The activity will last approximately 6 hours in total .

This activity is suitable for everyone, with no age restrictions; those under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult on board.

The activity takes place from June to September and is confirmed provided there is a minimum of two participants.
The itinerary and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions.
The vessel used is a wooden boat, 20 metres long (and 5 metres wide) , equipped with a toilet, shower, galley, dining area and ample space at the bow and stern. On board, you must be barefoot or wear slippers.

There are both free and paid car parks on site. The meeting point is accessible by public transport.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is last minute. You get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours from the activity start. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
