Private helicopter flight over Etna

The longest helicopter flight over Mount Etna in the world? Yes, that's exactly what it is!

Climb aboard your private aircraft, capable of accommodating 1 to 5 passengers, and prepare for take-off: in the company of a professional pilot, you will fly over craters and lava flows for a full 30 minutes. On the horizon, you will even spot the Aeolian Islands and Calabria!

An experience lasting 1 hour in total, which will remain forever in the eyes and hearts of those who try it!

What we will do

I will be waiting for you 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia (CT). To welcome you with a welcome drink (included) will be me, your pilot!

Upon your arrival, I will hold a 10-minute briefing during which I will provide you with all the information you need to live this experience without worries; with your head in the clouds, literally! We will then be ready to board theAS 350 helicopter, reserved for you and your group of up to 5 participants, and begin our flight over Mount Etna.

After take-off, we will head towards the northern slope of the volcano, flying over the municipalities of Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa; as we climb in altitude, we will admire the coniferous forest and the scenic lava flows. We will then reach the ski resort of Piano Provenzana, surrounded by the 2002 lava flows that created the so-called'bottoniera', a famous series of craters.

The sciara di fuoco will then show us the way to the 4 summit craters, at an altitude of 3,500 metres: from up here it will even be possible to see the Aeolian Islands and Calabria! We will then descend along the wilder side of the volcano to the Etna Sud ski resort and the Rifugio Sapienza, which will give us a splendid view of the Gulf of Catania.

Proceeding eastwards, we will fly over the Silvestri craters and the so-called'Schiena dell'Asino' (Donkey's Back), which overlooks the Valle del Bove. We will admire the lava flows that grazed Zafferana Etnea before greeting in the distance the coastline connecting Catania to Taormina, characterised by vineyards and crops.

We will land at the meeting point after a 30-minute flight; the exclusive experience will last 1 hour in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone from 4 years of age; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

A maximum weight of 105 kg is allowed to participate in this activity.

The helicopter is wheelchair-accessible; please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email for on-site support.

The experience is not recommended for pregnant women and people with heart problems.

Attention! The helicopter flight is an experience strictly dependent on weather conditions, which may change even shortly before the selected time; it will be the organiser's responsibility to assess the feasibility of the activity.

The experience is available from April to October.

There is ample private and secure parking on site.

Any accompanying persons may stay at the shaded relaxation area. The following services are available on site: bar, cafeteria, restaurant, snacks, wine cellar, swimming pool and solarium. Dogs are not allowed.
