Private helicopter flight over Etna and Taormina

Perhaps you have been on holiday in Sicily. And you may have spottedMount Etna on the horizon and strolled through the streets of Taormina.

But surely you have never admired the hinterland and the eastern coastline during a private helicopter flight for 1 to 5 passengers: together with a professional pilot, you will fly over the moonscape of the volcano and the characteristic historic centre of the most famous coastal village.

A 35-minute flight for a total experience of 1 hour, the memory of which will last a lifetime!

What we will do

I will be waiting for you 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Fiumefreddo di Sicilia (CT). I am your pilot and I will welcome you with a welcome drink in my hand (included)!

On your arrival I will hold a briefing of about 10 minutes during which I will provide you with all the information you need to enjoy this experience without worries. We will then board theAS 350 helicopter, for the occasion reserved for you and your group of friends and family(max. 5 people): our private flight over Mount Etna will then begin!

After take-off, we will head towards the northern slope of the volcano, flying over the municipalities of Piedimonte Etneo and Linguaglossa; as we climb in altitude, we will admire the coniferous forest and the striking lava flows. We will then reach the ski resort of Piano Provenzana, where the 2002 lava flows will be visible, giving rise to the series of craters known as the'bottoniera'.

We will then follow the sciara di fuoco up to the four summit craters, at an altitude of 3,500 metres: up here, the panoramic view will extend to the Aeolian Islands and Calabria! We will then descend along the wilder side of the volcano to the Etna Sud ski resort and the Rifugio Sapienza, with a view of the Gulf of Catania.

We will continue eastwards, flying over the Silvestri craters and the so-called'Schiena dell'Asino' (Donkey's Back), overlooking the Valle del Bove; we will admire the lava flows surrounding Zafferana Etnea before descending to the marina of Riposto. We will continue along the coast, flying over the beach, sea and Greek excavations of Giardini Naxos, until we reach Taormina. We will admire from a unique perspective the city's Greek theatre and castle, Capo Taormina, Isola Bella and Castelmola; we will finally greet the castle of Calatabiano.

We will land at the meeting point after a 35-minute flight; the private experience will last a total of 1 hour.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone from 4 years of age; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

A maximum weight of 105 kg is allowed to participate in this activity.

The helicopter is wheelchair-accessible; please contact the organiser at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email for on-site support.

The experience is not recommended for pregnant women and people with heart problems.

Attention! The helicopter flight is an experience strictly dependent on weather conditions, which may change even shortly before the selected time; it will be the organiser's responsibility to assess the feasibility of the activity.

The experience is available from April to October.

There is ample private and secure parking on site.

Any accompanying persons may stay at the shaded relaxation area. The following services are available on site: bar, cafeteria, restaurant, snacks, wine cellar, swimming pool and solarium. Dogs are not allowed.
