Do you want to realise your dream of becoming a pilot?
At thePreturo Park Airport in L'Aquila, you can take the controls of a light and elegant glider and fly between snowy peaks while admiring the view.
You will experience the thrill of gliding, exploiting updrafts and the principles of aerodynamics. A highly qualified instructor will be with you throughout the flight to ensure your safety.
What we will do
The appointment is at the flight school of thePreturo Parks Airport in L'Aquila. Here you will be welcomed by the team, who will give you a tour of the facility and the hangar.
Afterwards, you will have an introductory briefing of about 15 to 20 minutes on the theory of gliding, during which a highly qualified instructor will give you all the basics about the aircraft and controls.
Gliding' is a non-propellor flight performed with a glider that, after an initial tow, exploits only the updrafts of the wind. Once at altitude, the glider detaches itself from the tow to begin its descent.
After the theory lesson, you board the craft in tandem with the instructor. In the tandem glider, the passenger sits behind the pilot but still enjoys the aerial view, thanks to the transparent canopy.
The flight lasts about 30 minutes, during which you can take the controls and perform turns and manoeuvres, always under the supervision of your instructor. After landing there will be a final debriefing and you will also be given a'Baptism of the Air' certificate.
The activity lasts a total of approximately 1 hour and includes theory lesson, flight and final debriefing.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is open to everyone over the age of 14. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the flying field by their parents.
The weight limit is 120 kg and the height limit is 1.95 metres.

Attention! Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the activity.
The activity can take place all year round, subject to weather conditions and pilot availability.
The experience is private and is restricted to one person who will travel together with the pilot on a two-seater glider.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport and free parking spaces are available nearby.
