Did you know there is a way to see from above in Monte Rosa?
Climb aboard an Airbus Helicopter AS350B3 piloted by an experienced pilot, and fly over the skies above Capanna Margherita, the highest refuge in Europe, 4,554 metres above sea level.
You will take part in a group flight, during which the helicopter will be shared with other participants up to a maximum of 5 people (in addition to the pilot).
What we will do
The rendezvous is in Mergozzo, in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, where we will be welcomed by the pilot, who will illustrate the route of the tour and provide us with the necessary information to face the experience without worries.
Once all the participants have gathered, we will begin our flight over the Monte Rosa group, starting from the east face, the steepest and highest of the entire Alpine chain, with features reminiscent of the Himalayas.
We will admire Punta Gnifetti from above, which holds the record of housing the highest alpine refuge in Europe, the Capanna Regina Margherita, at 4554 metres above sea level. The hut owes its name to the historic feat of the Queen of Italy, Margherita di Savoia, who bravely climbed the peak between 18 and 19 August 1893. We will also fly over the extreme Punta Dufour, which stands 4,634 metres high.
Monte Rosa is visible from almost all the Valsesian localities, from the 'lowlands' to the extreme valley floor, with several vantage points from which to observe its elegant profile, which in clear dawns illuminated by the rays of the sun is tinged with a striking and characteristic pink.
At the end of the experience, we will return to the take-off point. The flight will last about 40 minutes in total .

This activity is suitable for everyone, with no age limit.
To participate, amaximum height of 180 cm and a maximum weight of 130 kg per person are required.

The activity can be carried out all year round, with departures at dawn and dusk, and is confirmed upon reaching 5 participants, weather permitting.
