Full description
Live an incredible experience in the heart of Sardinia. Near Oliena (NU ) you can transform yourself into a real speleologist for half a day and explore the 'Sa Nurre de su Hoda' cave.
We will explore the cave until we reach an immense hall with a special hole. This hole, for one hour a day, is crossed by a wonderful beam of light that illuminates the huge hall, a natural spectacle that you absolutely cannot miss!
It will be aunique and exciting adventure that, thanks to the expert guide, will allow you to get to know this place in the Lanaitto Valley in depth.
What we will do
We’ll meet at 10. 00 in Oliena, in the province of Nuoro. After meeting the guide and having a quick briefing on the activity, we’ll get into the jeep.
After a journey of about 20 minutes, we’ll arrive near the “Grotta Sa Nurre de su Hoda”, a large karst cave with two entrances.
The lower entrance is accessible to everyone and leads to a majestic chamber, rich in limestone formations. The upper entrance, however, is reserved for experienced cavers and overlooks a chasm a full 103 metres deep.
After a fairly short walk (around 30 minutes, up to an hour including stops for explanations) , we’ll reach the cave and pass through a tunnel approximately 1. 20 metres high and 30–40 metres long to enter the heart of the cave.
Here we’ll take an approximately one-hour tour of the cave, with the guide explaining the various rock formations found in the chambers. Together, we’ll wait for the most beautiful and evocative moment: when the sun streams in through a tunnel, creating a spectacular beam of light, visible for just one hour a day.
We will then retrace our steps until we reach the jeep and return to the starting point at around 2. 00 pm. The experience lasts a total of 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The tour is suitable for everyone over the age of 12. However, it is not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
