A glamping holiday by the sea in southern Sicily with surfing lesson

A night of glamping, the sea just a stone’s throw away and a new challenge: learning to ride the waves! If you’re looking for a weekend with a difference, we’ve got an idea you might like.

In Santa Croce Camerina, on Sicily’s southern coast, a lodge tent surrounded by nature awaits you, complete with a veranda, en-suite bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. You can relax just a stone’s throw from the cliffs, or put yourself to the test with a 1½-hour surfing lesson with an instructor.

And who knows, you might just discover that surfing is the perfect sport for you!

What we will do

Check-in is from 2. 30 pm at Santa Croce Camerina, in the province of Ragusa. On arrival, you will be welcomed by the staff and shown to your accommodation: a spacious 67 m² glamping tent , situated just 100 metres from the shore.

The accommodation features two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a coffee machine, air conditioning, heating and a private veranda. Once you’ve settled in, you can take the private path leading straight to the cliffs to soak up the energy of the Val di Noto coastline.

For dinner, you can use the tent’s kitchen, complete with crockery, or choose a takeaway to enjoy on the veranda. If you’d like, you can also treat yourself to an aperitif at sunset on the cliffs (extra charge on request) .

When you wake up, from 8. 30 am, a hearty traditional Sicilian breakfast awaits you in the clubhouse: artisanal brioches made by master pastry chefs, baked goods made with ancient grains, and coffee prepared using a professional machine.

Then it’ll be time to grab your board and head out in search of the first waves! You’ll head to the surf spot, located about a minute’s drive from the resort, where you’ll meet the instructor who’ll guide you through the lesson.

The session will last one and a half hours, combining theory and practical sessions in the water. If this is your first time, you’ll learn the basics of surfing, from your stance on the board to your first attempts at standing up and riding a wave. If you already have some experience, the instructor will tailor the lesson to your level.

Check-out is by 10. 00 am the following morning.

Who it is aimed at

The comfort tent is designed to accommodate up to 6 people. You can request a cot for a baby free of charge; please contact the accommodation using the details provided in your booking confirmation email.

The surfing lesson is suitable for everyone aged 5 and over. No previous experience or specific skills are required; you simply need to be in good health.

Other information

This experience is available all year round. Check-in is from 2. 30 pm until 7. 00 pm.

The lodge tent accommodation features a private bathroom with a shower cubicle, hairdryer, towels and bed linen, all located inside the tent itself.

The time of the surf lesson will be agreed with the organiser depending on sea conditions; if necessary, the activity may also take place on the day of arrival. Equipment is included and will be provided by the instructor.

You can request a sunset aperitif at an additional cost of €5 per person, payable on site. If you have any food allergies and/or intolerances, please contact the organiser using the contact details provided in your booking confirmation email to let them know well in advance.

Dogs are permitted subject to payment of a refundable deposit of €150 to cover any damage; please contact the venue in advance to check the size restrictions.

The property is not easily accessible by public transport; free on-site parking is available.
