Full description
Grooming a horse, learning to saddle it, giving it stop, start and change of direction commands. And then take it for a walk, immersed in the natural landscape of Val Rendena, among rivers, woods and little churches in the distance.
Looking for a simple riding lesson? At the end of this experience you will be able to say you are on horseback. Literally.
What we will do
We will meet at a farm in Porte di Rendena, at the address given after booking.
First of all, accompanied by a guide, we will start brushing and saddling the horse, to get familiar with the animal right away. When the horse is ready, we will put on his halter and begin to walk him from the ground, learning the first commands.
Having gained confidence, we will mount the horse in the saddle and go over the commands seen on the ground, so as to get in complete harmony with our new friend. This first part of the meeting will last approximately 2½ hours, at the end of which we will set off on a real outdoor ride, at an easy level, accompanied by a guide on the ground.
The route may vary depending on the participants' confidence: we will make a loop around the Sarca river, alternating between valley floors, secondary roads, asphalt and grass. On our way, we will be able to see in the distance the Bedù stream, a tributary of the Sarca that descends from the San Valentino valley, and the little church of San Valentino, a reconstruction of an ancient chapel built for "the sickness of the beasts", to protect the animals.
At the end of the 4 km walk, we will return to the meeting place for a snack with products from the farm, a worthy conclusion to our day's riding.
We will say goodbye after 4 hours of activity.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone, including beginners, from the age of 14.
A maximum weight of 85 kg and a maximum height of 1.90 m are required to participate.

The activity takes place all year round (Monday to Saturday) and is confirmed with a minimum number of 2 participants.
The mount used is English.
The meeting point in Porte di Rendena can be reached by public transport, with a bus stop nearby.
