Hydrospeed Classic in Valsesia

Tackle one of the most bubbly stretches of the Sesia, armed with wetsuit, fins and a'river bob', down its famous rapids: you will be immersed in breathtaking landscapes for a half-day of fun!

The Sesia offers all the necessary elements for a thrilling hydrospeed experience: clear water, evocative landscapes and foaming but not dangerous rapids.

We provide all the technical equipment that guarantees a perfect thermal seal, all you have to do is bring plenty of desire to get involved! You descend in groups of a maximum of six people plus the guide, who explains the basic manoeuvres before setting off. The Monrosa Centre Guides are qualified for hydrospeed by Firaft.

What we will do

Once we reach the meeting point, we will provide you with all the equipment and proceed to get dressed, wearing a wetsuit, waterproof jacket, helmet and fins.

Before the actual descent, the guide will give a theoretical-practical lesson, first in dry and then in calm water, so that all participants will know how to descend in Hydrospeed in complete safety.

We will launch ourselves into the stretch of river that has become famous for rafting descents. Depending on the river's flow, the guide will decide on the best route, which could be from Balmuccia to V occa or from Vocca to Varallo, with an infinite number of rapids with evocative names (shear, drunk, igloo, etc.) that will satisfy everyone, beginners and experts alike.

Arriving at the final point of the descent, we will take the minibus back to the centre for a hot shower. The activity, including transport, dressing and theory lesson, will take 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from the age of 14. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Participation does not require any special skills; all that is required is good physical condition, sufficient swimming ability, no psychophysical contraindications to the sport, and adherence to the Centre's regulations, which must be signed for acceptance.

Other information

This activity can be carried out from April to September. Like all river activities, hydrospeed is subject to the river's hydrometric conditions and therefore the descent will only be confirmed if the water flow is adequate for the activity to be carried out safely.

The Centre is recognised by the Italian Rafting Federation (F.I.Raft) and only qualified guides operate in the Centre. We are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that can easily accommodate very large groups.

It will be possible to request a photo and video service (shared via memory stick) at a cost of €35 per raft, which can be paid for directly on site. Alternatively, it is possible to rent a GoPro for the same price to shoot video of the experience.

Important: It is necessary to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the chosen time of the activity.

In accordance with the regulations for the containment of Covid-19 infection, a maximum of 5 persons plus the driver may be transported on the minibus, so that the necessary spacing is guaranteed.
